Graduate position in the Research department
Martin Audio
We design and manufacture professional loudspeakers for a wide range of sound reinforcement applications. Increasingly, success in this field is determined by the ability of the manufacturer to combine the disciplines of electrocacoustics, signal processing and software engineering together, to generate products which offer more control and utility to customers.
Role
A rarely available graduate position in the Research department is now open. The primary function of the research department is to provide technical support for development activities. We also investigate new or improved methods for sound reproduction and where appropriate builds tools for our customers to implement them. This may take the form of the design or modelling of an acoustic device, an algorithm, a software tool, a visualisation - in fact a huge range of technical requests is possible. We require an Acoustic engineer to help fulfil these requests, with particular emphasis on the creation of design tools for development and software to help our customers deploy and optimise our loudspeakers. Time will also be allocated for a research project aligned with the longer term objectives of the company and of particular interest to the engineer.
The individual should be comfortable working in a collaborative multidisciplinary team and have the capacity to acquire further knowledge through self-study and interaction with other team members. The position is based in High Wycombe although occasionally we are required to perform experiments in the field and attend conferences.
Attributes

Acoustics - Good working knowledge of acoustics, with the desire to acquire specialised knowledge in the field of sound reproduction.
Software Engineering - UML, testing, code management, documentation.
