CII5's the Flavour of the Month

Ampco Belgium have recently carried out two installations (in conjunction with their dealer, Schepens) using Martin Audio products.

Both ‘Beauregard’ and ‘Flavour’ represent highly-designed spaces in the city of Turnhout — and both have become instant hits with their customers.
Beauregard is a multilevel lounge bar/fusion restaurant situated in the town’s main square. Very popular for business lunches, it attracts
a more trendy crowd in the evening.

Ampco’s Guy Balbaert reports that the design emphasis was on providing clear zone/mood definition — in terms of both sound and lighting. To achieve this a total of 26 Martin Contractor series C115’s, reinforced by
a pair of EM150 subs, were installed.

The venue’s owner commented, “We liked the design of the C115 from the start. They blend into the surroundings but have a lot of presence for their size. They were exactly what we were looking for.”

Containing a 5in transducer, the elegant surface-mount C115 is ideal for reproducing both speech and background music in a distributed bar/resaurant sound system. Additionally, its unobtrusive, lightweight polypropylene injection-moulded enclosure withstands most weather conditions and protects the weather-resistant drive unit in exposed locations.

The C115 is also ‘flavour’ of the month in the aptly-named Flavour — which specialises in cigars and stiff drinks. It is described as “the ultimate late night bar for people who like their spirits and a good Cuban smoke.” Situated across the road from the Warande Theatre it has become the place for people to relax after a show, or simply to wind down in the evening with a fine selection of Cuban cigars and single malts.

Here Ampco have recommended eight C115’s to distribute the sound — much to the approval of the owner, who commented, “The speakers are not obtrusive and they certainly sound sweet. We love the design, and they blend in perfectly. What else can I say?”

Since Schepens’ visit to Martin Audio last year they have become regular customers of Ampco.
